Hi-tech "Trojan horse" can kill cancer cells

Australian researchers are set to begin studies with people, a small cell Nano, like "Trojan horse" against cancer cells, a breakthrough they say May the need for disability chemotherapy. The technology could yield cancer patients, such as outpatient treatment, not the hospital for long struggles of chemotherapy, according to researchers.

Himanshu Brahmbhatt Sydney biotech companies EnGeneIC said the research - in the journal Nature Biotechnology - had the potential to reduce side effects of cancer treatment and make it cheaper.

Brahmbhatt said the doctor of the technology can target cancer cells, not healthy tissue, a major problem with chemotherapy treatments.

"You must in principle the drug directly into the tumor cell and not Schneckenspürem the body," he of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

While researchers in the use of nano-cells against cancer at least five years, Brahmbhatt said the latest version was 100% effective treatment of cancer in the mice, resistant to conventional chemotherapy .

The cells were responsible for the fight against cancer and drugs in "waves" of the fight against cancer, he said.

"The first wave of Trojans is turned off, and the resistance mechanisms of cancer cell," he says.

"It is interesting to note that these cancer cells are completely open to repeated waves of these Trojans.

"We can in these nano-cells, and again, and whenever we can handle various types of weapons against cancer."

The cells are tested on cancer patients in the long term on three hospitals in Melbourne, this year.

Brahmbhatt said nano-cells under drug treatment than others, so that less costly to manage.

The treatment focused also means fewer side effects than chemotherapy, he said.

(Cancer treatment) can literally be effective for outpatient treatment, in which the patient comes in once or twice a week, "said Brahmbhatt.

"They can only be treated in a very short time, and you can of your life and does not have these terrible side effects toxic."
