Chinese herbs for endometriosis
Chinese Herbal Medicine (CHM) can relieve symptoms in the treatment of endometriosis. A systematic review by Cochrane researchers has found some evidence that women have comparable benefits to laparoscopic surgery and suffered fewer side effects, if they were Chinese herbs compared to conventional drugs.
Endometriosis is a gynecological disorder, which are not under one of six women of childbearing age. It can result in pain cave Beck, irregular and painful periods and infertility. Researchers, which is the first English-language systematic review of CHM for the treatment of endometriosis. Two studies, which together on a total of 158 women were in the examination. In one study, CHM, symptoms, and by the hormonal drug gestrinone, but with fewer side effects. In the other study, CHM was more effective than hormonal drug danazol, and also fewer side effects.
"These results suggest that Chinese herbs can be as effective as conventional medical treatments for women suffering from endometriosis, but currently we do not have sufficient evidence to generalize the results," says Andrew flowering department researchers are of complementary medicine at the University of Southampton, United Kingdom.
110 studies have led to a revision, but most were of poor quality and methodology have been excluded. The researchers stress that, for Chinese researchers to adopt more stringent requirements for the implementation of studies and reports. "Poor quality of reporting has the potential for confusion and harm to research in medicine Chinese herbs," said the flower
