Oral Contraceptives May beneficial for women with asthma

New research shows that during the natural menstrual cycle, women with asthma who do not reduce the use of oral contraceptives (OC) levels of exhaled NO (ENO), a marker of airway inflammation in asthma than women who took OC. Researchers at McMaster University in Hamilton, ON, Canada, studied 17 women with asthma during their menstrual cycle. The results showed that individuals with no oral contraceptives (OC) had higher levels ENO income women in organized crime.

In addition, among women who did not oral contraceptives, which was an increase in estrogen levels with an associated decrease Eno, while an increase of progesterone was significantly associated with increased ENO. Researchers suspected that D. may have a potential role in the treatment of postmenopausal women with asthma.
